Oh my gosh you guys, we had a giant pipe burst in the cabin kitchen. I know, literally the worst. It was in the wall underneath the princess window in the kitchen – ya know right under the sink. One of the hardest parts about owning and renovating a home that you don’t live in, and is two hours away is when things go south – you can’t just hop in and fix them like I was able to do when I renovated my home here in San Francisco.

Luckily we have been making a ton of friends, and getting to know our neighbors. Be sure to do that y’all. Being a homeowner is great, but being a part of the community is even better. Especially when you can lend a hand, or when you are in need. Just look how scary it was when a new open up the wall and had to replace one whole copper pipe.

Now, a full 48 hours of drama later – the pipe is fixed, moisture dried out, mold sprayed, and the wall to the exterior where it is exposed is being patched. Our amazing neighbor and the plumber who is helping us without septic were able to get on it right away – and it wasn’t too pricey!

That being said, we got to plant our amazing clover seed lawn. Don’t be fooled by the myths guys. Clover is a legit, affordable, and easy way to turn a massive brown dirt area into a lush green meadow. Let me tell you. Clover is not a weed! It has a ton of amazing qualities that are great for your yard and looks great. It’s so easy to take care of and takes very little water. It was the perfect solution for us to get a “grass” like look quick, easy, and cheap. Could you read all about it in my blog?

Ok before I forget. You know we love plants. So I pulled together for you a comprehensive guide for some amazing small plants that do well in pots. A lot of you were asking what are some good options, given limited space and whatnot. I get it. So be sure to check this out. DM me if you have questions. Seriously, I am happy to help.

How is everyone holding up with this cold front? It’s making me want to curl up on the sofa with some Real Housewives and stay inside. Is anyone else watching? It’s out of control. That being said, one of my favorite dinners to make in the cold weather is this chocolate chili recipe. This chili is super easy to make, you only need one pot, and is perfect for an aesthetic dinner evening. Check out more of my fave recipes here and let me know how you like this chocolate chili.

Let’s chat about a living room design by Studio Day Design I found on my most recent Pinterest rabbit hole. The overall design is this perfect mix of modern, elegance, and everyday functionality. The color palette is moody, but in the best way possible – deep tones that create this cozy atmosphere, with little pops of color here and there that just tie everything together. Also, it’s the perfect space for some major wall art. Let’s jump into the mood board and pieces that I found:

Numbered items including a sofa, vase, and pillows.
1. Framed Wall Art / 2. Marble Candle Holder / 3. Faux Olive Tree / 4. Black Ceramic Vase / 5. Square Throw Pillow / 6. Salmon Lumbar Pillow / 7. Black Coffee Table / 8. Olive Green Sofa / 9. Red Area Rug
