To avoid meal prep issues, you can even prepare a lot of the ingredients ahead of time. The eggs, chicken, and bacon can all be cooked ahead of time, leaving you with very little left to do once it comes time to assemble the actual salad.

  • Cherry tomatoes (1 cup, halved)
  • Romaine lettuce (6 cups, chopped)

Step One

Cook your chicken, bacon strips, and eggs have been cooked, if you haven’t already. Set them aside.

Step Two

Chop your Romaine lettuce, then rinse and dry it before arranging it on a plate.

Arrange your toppings. You can place them in sections or rows, but make sure all of the ingredients are visible from the top for the best presentation.

Without further ado, here’s how to make a Chef Salad. Gather up the ingredients below before getting started. As before, I’ve bolded the things I recommend prepping ahead of time.

Ingredients

  • Avocados (1 cup, diced)
  • Boston Bibb Lettuce (1 head, chopped)
  • Cheddar Cheese (1 cup, cubed)
  • Cucumbers (1 cup, sliced)
  • Hard-boiled Eggs (4, quartered)
  • Iceberg Lettuce  (1 head, chopped)
  • Turkey (1 cup, chopped)
  • Tomatoes (1 cup, halved)

Step One

First, you’ll want to cook your egg and turkey if you haven’t already. Remember, this recipe is pretty flexible, so don’t be afraid to experiment. I recommend giving duck a try if you can get your hands on it.

Step Two

Next, it’s time to cut and rinse your lettuce. With that out of the way, measure and prepare the rest of your veggies, then chop your turkey.

Step Three
